This Privacy Policy explains how Astroinsights (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data when you use our website at astroinsights.io and the Astroinsights mobile application (together, the “Services”). For GDPR purposes, we act as the controller of your personal data.

1. Who we are

Astroinsights provides personalized astrology tools for entertainment and self-reflection. Privacy questions can be sent to privacy@astroinsights.io. General support is available at support@astroinsights.io.

2. Data we collect

Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect:

• Website contact data — name and message submitted through the contact form.
• Waitlist data — email address if you ask to be notified about launch updates.
• Account data — name, email address, and optional social handles you choose to add in the app.
• Astrological inputs — date, time, and city of birth, and related profile information needed to generate charts and insights.
• Authentication data — identifiers received from Apple or Google when you sign in with those providers.
• Device and usage data — device model, OS version, language, app version, crash reports, and aggregated analytics.
• Subscription metadata — purchase and subscription status from Apple App Store or Google Play. We never receive or store full payment-card details.
• Local preferences — cookie consent and language preference stored on your device.

3. How we use your data

We use personal data to:

• operate the website and respond to contact or waitlist requests;
• provide core app features such as birth-chart calculation, archetypes, daily insights, community matching, and notifications you enable;
• create and secure accounts;
• manage subscriptions and support requests;
• improve the Services through analytics and crash reporting;
• comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use astrological output to make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.

4. Legal bases (GDPR)

Where GDPR applies, we process data based on:

• performance of a contract, to provide the Services you request;
• consent, where required (for example, non-essential communications or certain notifications);
• legitimate interests in securing, operating, and improving the Services, balanced against your rights;
• compliance with legal obligations.

5. Sensitive or special-category data

Birth date, birth time, and birth place can be sensitive when combined. We use this information only to generate your astrological profile, do not sell it, and protect it with appropriate technical and organizational measures. You are not required to provide it, but without it core chart features will not work.

6. Sharing your data

We share data only with:

• hosting and infrastructure providers acting as processors;
• form and email delivery providers used for website contact and waitlist messages;
• Apple or Google when you sign in or subscribe through their platforms;
• analytics, crash-reporting, and support tools acting as processors;
• competent authorities when required by law.

7. International transfers

Some processors may store data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

8. Retention

Website contact messages are kept only as long as needed to respond and maintain basic records. Waitlist emails are kept until you ask to be removed or we close the waitlist. App account and astrological data are kept while your account is active. After account deletion, we delete or anonymize personal data within 90 days, except where law requires longer retention of certain records.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, or portability of your personal data, restrict or object to certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Contact privacy@astroinsights.io. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

10. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact privacy@astroinsights.io and we will delete it.

11. Cookies and local storage

The website uses only essential local storage for cookie consent and language preference. We do not use advertising trackers on the website.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be published on this page and, where relevant, in the app. Material changes will be communicated as required by law.
